You (as Founder or CEO) already found product-market fit, made a business cash-positive, or even maybe have 7-9 figure dollar profit. But you want 10x from current situation. What do you have to do next? Hire superstars.

Who is a superstar? He/she is a person who previously, executing, achieved extra business achievement. Execution is the key component here, because results only come from actions. Examples of extra achievement could be (a) making 8-figure dollar sales business from 0, (b) 10x sales increase in 2-3 years starting from 8-9 figure sales business, or (c) 2-5x sales increase for 10+ figure business. Ideally if these results are achieved along with profitability performance in terms of proportionate cash flow improvements and profit margin increase.

How to find such talents? Focus on talent’s past execution of extra business achievement during hiring. If you want to nurture superstars – sometimes just extra achievement execution in other fields can be a proxy of future superstars. Here, execution prevails as well. But be cautious what you take as proxy – mistakes in hiring will be costly for superstar roles.

How does she/he become a superstar in your organization? Yes, you hear it correctly – after hiring superstar could downgrade. Main focus should be to support productive company’s environment and motivate him/her in right way. Side effect of this is that you could nurture new superstars in your organization with current priorities. But talents will become superstars very seldom during your supervising. At the same time, superstars can downgrade very often because of specific industry environment in which your company operates. Therefore always in hiring juxtapose past successful execution with possible future one.

Finally, pay wisely. If you want to be a billionaire, you have to make at least several multi-millionaires.
